Our leadership team is as diverse as our membership body. As a chapter without borders, our leadership team consists of relatively new and seasoned members from all over the world!
Dr. Simon has been involved in mathematics and computer education since 1969, and research and teaching in the humanities, social sciences, education, business, and health since 1990. She received outstanding faculty awards at several universities. (more…)
Dr. Elliott is a father with two sons and a wife of 20 years, living in Japan. Throughout his adult years, he has been an educator at the elementary and collegiate levels of academia. As a professional educator, he has guided and facilitated learning at schools in Japan, Italy, South Korea and the Philippines. (more…)
Shawna Ebbeson has over 30 years of experience caring for children and is a Walden University Alumnus. She has earned an MS in Early Childhood Studies and a graduate certificate in Teaching Adults in Early Childhood Field. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D)

Proposal reviewers are responsible for reviewing both manuscripts for the JEPSC journal as well as the Professional Development Fairs and webinars.
Dr. Jarek Janio is the immediate past editor for the Walden University Cyberspace Chapter's exclusive Journal of Educational Practice and Social Change. He received his doctorate in Educational Technology from Walden University in 2007 and has been the member of the PDK Cyberspace Chapter since 2004. He is the co-founder and chief editor of the journal since its inception. The chapter is actively looking to fill this position as Dr. Janio plans to retire as chief editor.
Works directly with VP of Communications to manage social media. This includes writing regular posts on a set schedule for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and the website blog. Submits content on pertinent news distributed in PDK International newsletters and PDK Kappan to the VP of communications for inclusion in the newsletter. Regularly reviews sister and parent organization websites for news, upcoming events, and other opportunities our chapter may show support and submit a write up to be released in the next newsletter. Maintain the newsletter archives and ensure the most recent newsletter is prominent on the website. Other duties as necessary.
Serves as chief editor and content manager of the chapter newsletter. Responsible for publishing and sending the newsletter to all current members. Collaborates with VP of Membership to ensure email list is always up-to-date. Collaborates with other members and leadership for content. Serves as secretary at asynchronous and live (virtual) chapter meetings. Provides chapter meeting summaries and finalized newsletter PDFs to Digital Content Manager for inclusion on the website. Other duties as necessary.
Responds to membership inquiry and acts as delegate at member Info Sessions. Maintains up-to-date membership records. Collaborates with digital content manager for membership features content for the website and chapter newsletters. Collaborates with president and treasurer in processing website enrollments. Delivers electronic/printed copies of new membership welcome packets. Other duties as necessary.
